Ribbon cutting planned for Clover Island Improvement Project
The Community is invited on Friday, May 12, to join the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, and its partners, the Port of Kennewick, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, City of Kennewick, Benton County, and Washington State Recreation & Conservation Office in celebrating the completion of the Clover Island Improvement Project. Fort Peck releases to decline during maintenance
Releases from Fort Peck Dam will be reduced from 9,000 cubic feet per second to 6,000 cfs on May 22. Releases will be increased back to 9,000 cfs on June 2. If the maintenance work is completed early, releases will return to 9,000 cfs as soon as possible.

USACE announces public comment on proposed alum treatment system for C-43 West Basin Storage Reservoir pursuant to Section 408
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District announces a 30-day public comment period for the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Proposed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the approval of construction of an aluminum sulfate (alum) treatment system during the construction of the authorized C-43 West Basin Storage Reservoir (WBSR) in Hendry County, Florida. The Corps is evaluating the request from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) to modify the C-43 WBSR Federal Civil Works project pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 408.

NAVIGATION NOTICE SWL 23-21 McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System
The tow haulage equipment at Arthur V. Ormond Lock (No. 9) NM 176.9 is currently out of service. Double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage). A subsequent navigation notice will be issued when the tow haulage equipment is back in service.

New York District Contributes to New York State Hurricane Evacuation Study
A comprehensive New York State (NYS) Hurricane Evacuation Study is being conducted by a partnership between the National Hurricane Program, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, NOAA's National Hurricane Center, and the State of New York. The study aims to provide data, resources, and technical assistance for hurricane evacuation planning and response for state, local, tribal, territorial, and federal government partners.
