BLM closes Marion Creek Campground early due to bear activity
News Release: FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Due to ongoing bear activity in and around Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Marion Creek Campground at Milepost 180 Dalton Highway, the BLM Central Yukon Field Office is closing the campground for public safety. The campground will close Saturday, September 9 and remain closed for winter until reopening with normal spring operations in late May 2024.

Celebrate National Public Lands Day at Piedras Blancas Light Station

BLM offers reward for information on metal tire spikes placed at two boat ramps
News Release: IDAHO FALLS, Idaho. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Idaho Falls District and BLM Law Enforcement are offering a $1,500 cash reward. The team is seeking information leading to the identity of the person(s) responsible for placing homemade metal spikes below the waterline on boat ramps at the Conant and Spring Creek recreational sites. The spikes damaged boat trailers and could have caused serious injuries.

BLM extends public participation period for carbon dioxide sequestration proposal in Laramie County
News Release: RAWLINS, Wyo. - Due to a technical issue with our ePlanning site, today the Bureau of Land Management restarted the 30-day public comment period for the proposed Tallgrass Southeast CO2 Sequestration Project. If approved, Tallgrass could store carbon dioxide (CO2) in approximately 480 acres of sub-surface federal pore space in Laramie County. The comment period will now close Oct. 10, 2023.

Reclamation releases Yakima basin September water supply forecast
News Release: YAKIMA, Wash. - The Bureau of Reclamation’s September 2023 water supply forecast for the Yakima basin indicates the water supply will provide senior water rights 100% of entitlements and junior water rights 73% of entitlements for the June-September total available water supply. The increase in junior water rights rose slightly from 72% from the previous month.

News Release: CARSON CITY, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management Carson City District Office, Bureau of Indian Affairs, US Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Reclamations, and Nevada Division of Forestry announce the lifting of fire restrictions that have been in place since July 29, 2023. BLM schedules auction for McGregor Range grazing units
News Release: LAS CRUCES, N.M. - On Oct. 6, 2023, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Las Cruces District will auction (through an oral competitive bid) up to five grazing units, ranging in use from nine to 23 months, on the McGregor Range on the west side of Otero Mesa. On Sept. 29, the BLM will conduct a pre-bid, bidder’s tour of the grazing units. Cattle numbers and periods of grazing may be adjusted up to the bid tour and auction date, based on late summer rains.
