Eight Projects in Upper Colorado Basin Region to benefit from $585 Million Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Investment for Aging Infrastructure

News Release: SALT LAKE CITY- The Department of the Interior recently announced a nearly $585 million investment from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for infrastructure repairs on water delivery systems. Funds will support 83 projects across all five Reclamation regions, including eight projects in the Upper Colorado Basin Region.


Notification of estimated spring restoration flow schedules on the Trinity River

News Release: WEAVERVILLE, Calif. - The Trinity Management Council’s recommended water releases from Lewiston Dam into the Trinity River are scheduled to begin increasing on Sunday, April 16. Each year, the Trinity Management Council advances a flow schedule based on the expected amount of water available to support salmon restoration efforts on the Trinity River.

Cypress Camp Trail Fire Receives Precipitation

News Release: OCHOPEE, FL - Fire behavior on the Cypress Camp Trail Fire in Big Cypress National Preserve has decreased significantly today with precipitation over the fire area. Creeping and smoldering continues to be observed in the prairies and pines. Current mapping puts the fire at 9,749 acres and containment has increased to 67%.


Turkey Run Park will close to vehicles starting April 10

On Monday, April 10, the National Park Service (NPS) will close the Turkey Run Loop Road and parking lots so that construction workers can repair and repave road surfaces.

Reclamation announces Yakima basin April water supply forecast

News Release: YAKIMA, Wash. - The Bureau of Reclamation’s April 2023 total water supply available forecast for the Yakima basin indicates the water supply will be adequate to meet irrigation demands this season. The April total water supply available for the April-September period indicates senior water rights will receive 100% of entitlements and junior water rights will receive 82% of entitlements.


Fresno Dam Modification to Start and Tailwater Fishing Access Site Closure

News Release: BILLINGS, Mont. ─ The Contractor selected to complete the Fresno Dam Safety Modifications, NW Construction, plans to begin mobilization activities the week of April 17, 2023. Initial site activities are anticipated to include mobilization of equipment and materials, installation of monitoring wells, and site preparatory work.

BLM extends South Hills seasonal closure to April 28

News Release: TWIN FALLS, Idaho- Due to the extensive snowpack lingering in the South Hills area south of Twin Falls, the Bureau of Land Management Burley Field Office will extend the seasonal motorized travel closure to Friday, April 28, 2023. According to conversations with Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG), mule deer herds continue to need protection in this area, which is still open to the public for non-motorized use.

The site includes outdoor courts, indoor courts under a bubble, and an office with attached restrooms/locker rooms. The National Park Service is seeking a continuation of the tennis operations to attract diverse visitors and serve the surrounding community as well as visitors to the park.
