2013 Tilden Award Recipients

News Release: The Freeman Tilden Awards are the highest interpretation awards presented to a National Park Service individual or team to recognize outstanding contributions to the profession of interpretation. BLM Colorado selects Abdelgadir Elmadani as Deputy State Director Energy, Lands, and Minerals

News Release: LAKEWOOD, Colo. -Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado State Office welcomes Abdelgadir (AG) Elmadani as the new Deputy State Director for Energy, Lands, and Minerals. Elmadani joins the Colorado State Office from the California State Office where he was the Associate Deputy State Director for Fluids and Minerals.


Mammoth Cave National Park Proposes Future Fee Increase

News Release: MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. -Mammoth Cave National Park seeks public comments on a proposed increase in cave tour, camping rates, and electric vehicle (EV) charging fees which would take effect in 2024. Information on the fee increase, including a list of all proposed fees, is available for review and comment on the park’s Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) website from Monday, June 26, 2023 to Friday, July 28, 2023.


Gateway Arch Park Foundation announces star-studded lineup for 8th annual Blues at the Arch Festival

News Release: ST. LOUIS, MO (June 20, 2023)-Blues at the Arch Festival returns August 11-13, this year presented by the Missouri Division of Tourism,Visit Missouri. Fireworks Not Allowed at Belle Fourche Reservoir

News Release: RAPID CITY, S.D. - Fireworks are not allowed on Belle Fourche Reservoir lands; including Rocky Point State Recreation Area, Belle Fourche Dam and lands directly managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. Federal regulation restricts the possession or use of fireworks on Reclamation lands and waterbodies.

Palo Alto Battlefield Continues British Document Project

News Release: Thanks to dedicated Palo Alto volunteers, the park can now tell a little-known story of Great Britain’s involvement in the final negotiations of the U.S.-Mexican War. During the war, British businesses in Mexico suffered. Therefore, British officials entered secret negotiations with both Mexican and U.S. officials to end the war.


Bumper Car Pavilion

News Release: The Bumper Car Pavilion was originally called the Skooter when it came to the park in 1923. In 1995, the National Park Service organized a major volunteer effort that included constructing a foundation wall, replacing floorboards, and stabilizing the structure. The Bumper Car Pavilion is now a populuar venue for dances, concerts, private rentals, classes, and special events.

North Carolina Monument Parking Area

News Release: The North Caroling Monument Parking Area features 10 regular spaces and 1 accessible parking space. This parking lot provides access to signs about the North Carolina monument located in the woods nearby. Visitors can also access the Grant's Approach loop trail here and from that trail, access the Southside Connector Trail, the Tobacco Prizery Nature Trail, and the Lee's Headquarters Trail (adding several miles).
