The National Park Service is accepting American World War II Heritage City nominations until Sept. 1, 2023.


Going-to-the-Sun Road Opens for the 2023 Season

News Release: WEST GLACIER, Mont. [June 13, 2023] - Going-to-the-Sun Road officially opened this morning for the 2023 summer season. The road may now be accessed by motorized vehicles all the way through from both the West Glacier and St. Mary entrances. This is the earliest the road has opened since 2005.

BLM announces 30-Day Comment Period for Pinyon Juniper Project Maintenance

News Release: RICHFIELD, Utah - The Bureau of Land Management Richfield Field Office today announced a 30-day comment period for the Pinyon Juniper Project Maintenance environmental assessment. The environmental assessment evaluates the potential environmental impacts of the removal of pinyon and juniper regrowth in areas that have previously undergone pinyon-juniper treatments on public lands in Sanpete, Sevier, Wayne, Piute, and Garfield counties.

Voyageurs National Park Issues Burning Restrictions

News Release: INTERNATIONAL FALLS, MN: Due to rapidly increasing fire danger, Voyageurs National Park is banning all campfires within the park. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources issued burning restrictions for northern St. Louis County from County Road 16 north. In cooperation with the Minnesota DNR, Voyageurs National Park will apply the following restrictions throughout the park effective immediately.
