BLM plans temporary closure of Camel Tracks area

News Release: TAOS, N.M. - The Bureau of Land Management Taos Field Office has issued a two-week temporary closure order for parts of La Bajada Mesa within Santa Fe County, in the area commonly referred to as Camel Tracks. This two-week temporary order is in effect July 17-July 31, 2023, and applies to approximately 1,280 acres of public lands.



Man cited for illegally landing helicopter on west shore of Jackson Lake inside Grand Teton National Park

News Release: MOOSE, WY - On Saturday, June 24, at approximately 3 p.m. Grand Teton National Park law enforcement rangers received a report that a helicopter had illegally landed at Moran Bay on the west shore of Jackson Lake, inside Grand Teton National Park. Rangers responded by boat across Jackson Lake and found the helicopter and pilot Peter Smith, of Gunnison, Colorado, and a companion picnicking along the lake.

News Release: WORLAND, Wyo. - Rainy weather didn’t curb Independence Day celebrations around the Bighorn Basin, including the tradition of fireworks at the gravel pit northwest of Worland. Riverways hosts youth fly fishing workshops

News Release: EMINENCE, Mo: Ozark National Scenic Riverways will host a series of free, one-day workshops about the basics of fly fishing for youth between the ages of 12 and 16. The clinics will be held on July 27, Aug. 20, Sept. 24, and October 22 at the Akers Visitor Center.
