The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on March 21. It is reproduced in full below.

Welcome to your wellness challenge located at Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park! Personal wellness is well within reach if you get out and explore.

Ste. Genevieve was the first permanent European settlement in Missouri. The town was a crossroads of people, architecture, foods, and language. Today you can see the cultural influences of Creole, French- Canadian colonists, British Americans, German Americans, and both free and enslaved people that made this village their home.

Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park offers you many opportunities to practice personal wellness by exploring the historic streets and buildings, learning about the city’s cultural influences, and reflecting in the beautiful streetscapes and gardens.

What is the Wellness Challenge?

The Wellness Challenge promotes the unique health resources that you can find in all seven Missouri National Parks.

Challenge yourself by choosing from a wide range of activities - physical, mental, and learning - to promote your health and well-being.
