The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District received a permit application to conduct work in waters of the United States from the Maine Department of Transportation for proposed work in an unnamed tributary to the Cathance River where it crosses under Interstate 295 in Topsham, Maine.

The proposed work involves slip lining an existing culvert under the northbound lanes of Interstate 295 with a high-density plastic pipe. The void between the pipes will be grouted in. Work is scheduled to take place later this year between June 1 and October 31.

USACE is soliciting comments from members of the public; federal, state and local agencies; American Indian Tribes; and other interested parties to consider and evaluate the impacts of this proposed activity. The public notice with more detailed information is available for review on the District website at https://www.nae.usace.army.mil/Missions/PublicNotices, file # NAE-2022-01563.
