Jemez Springs, NM - Anglers can now visit the park’s Fishing web page to fill out an application for their 2023-24 fishing permit. A State of New Mexico fishing license is required to fish within Valles Caldera and a backcountry vehicle pass is required for those wishing to drive into the backcountry to fish.

The Fishing web page also provides information on obtaining a State of New Mexico fishing license, fishing rules and regulations, and fishing location descriptions and maps.

Valles Caldera National Preserve | About 1.25 million years ago, a spectacular volcanic eruption created the 13-mile wide circular depression now known as Valles Caldera.
