To provide time for staff to attend training that will enhance visitor service skills, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is scheduled to temporarily close the El Malpais National Conservation Area Ranger Station. The required training will focus on improving how we engage and inform visitors to the conservation area.

Closure dates are:

  • April 9
  • April 14-16
  • April 21-22
The BLM will reopen the ranger station on Sunday, April 23. The ranger station is regularly open Friday through Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
