Here photographic essay captures the solace and escape she found during these visits. The show includes 20 images of wildlife taken during the height of the pandemic.
Carcione grew up and lives in Howard Beach. Inspired by her childhood heroes Steven Irwin and Jane Goodall, she received degrees in Wildlife Conservation, Entomology, and Education. Carcione teaches middle school science for the New York City Department of Education and writes science-related children’s books.
