If you're new to the park and unfamiliar with who General Charles Young was, then the park's introductory film, is for you. This delves into the life and accomplishments of General Charles Young. The film follows General Young as he was born into enslavement in 1864 through his time at West Point as the third African American to graduate and his military career that took him throughout the American West, Philippines, Liberia, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic all while rising to become the first African American to attain the rank of Colonel.

The film is 10 minutes long and is suitable for all age levels. This film is subtitled for ease of accessibility. When you enter the visitor center, ask a ranger about the next showing of the film. Last film show times are 4:45 PM as the visitor center closes at 5:00 PM daily.
