The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on April 13. It is reproduced in full below.

SPRINGFIELD, IL: On Saturday April 22 2023, Lincoln Home National Historic Site will host "Yoga in the Park" as the National Park Service celebrates "Park Rx" Day and Earth Day.

On April 22, bring your yoga mat and join community yoga instructor Ashley Krstulovich in the Burch Lot, next to the Lincoln Home National Historic Site Visitor Center at 426 S. 7th Street from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM for a beginner's yoga class. This event is open to the first 50 people who register. Call 217-391-3225 or email karey_olson@nps.gov to reserve your spot.

Visitors on April 22 can also watch and try out historic toys and games in the Burch Lot between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Both "Yoga in the Park" and toy and game activities are part of the NPS Park Rx and Earth Day celebration, which challenges NPS visitors to take simple steps to care for themselves, others, and the Earth. Learn more here.

In the event of bad weather, both "Yoga in the Park" and historic toys and games demonstrations will be canceled.

"Yoga in the Park" is free and open to the public, but registration is required to attend. For more information or to register, contact Lincoln Home National Historic Site Community Volunteer Ambassador Karey Olson at (217) 391-3225 or at karey_olson@nps.gov.
