Gulf Islands National Seashore will reopen the Fort Pickens and Opal Beach Complex Areas at 2:00 p.m. on April 14.

The Johnson Beach Road beyond the parking lot in the Perdido Key Area will remain closed for sand removal.

Areas were temporarily closed for visitor access for weather recovery operations on April 13 due to severe weather in the park’s Florida district that resulted in overwash, standing water, and sand on the roadways. Park staff will continue to assess conditions.

For more information, please follow the park’s social media accounts and website.
