From the evening of April 23 through the afternoon of April 27, parking availability will be limited at Cape Hatteras National Seashore’s Oregon Inlet public boat ramps during a project to place permanent pavement markings in the parking lot. Visitors should use caution while maneuvering boat trailers in and out of the work zone.

The public boat ramp parking lot at Oregon Inlet, located between the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center and U.S. Coast Guard Station Oregon Inlet, provides approximately 78 parking spaces for users of the public boat ramps. During the pavement improvement project, around half of the parking spaces will be available for vehicles with boat trailers to use.

If the parking lot is full when boaters arrive at the Oregon Inlet public boat ramps, the Seashore recommends using the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission’s Washington Baum Bridge Boating Access Area, located at the west end of the Washington Baum Bridge in Manteo.
