On April 29th at 1pm, join the Friends of Vancouver in hosting author Alix Christie and introducing her new book, "The Shining Mountains".
A stunningly well-researched historical novel set in 1838 in the Hudson’s Bay Company Rocky Mountain fur trade extending to Fort Vancouver, Alix Christie helps the great northwest of two centuries ago come alive. First release of the book! One reviewer writes: "Alix Christie has not only written a generous and spirited novel of the fur trade and the marriage of two worlds, but she has also written a rousing adventure tale steeped in research and oral histories. Humorous and deeply tender, I admire The Shining Mountains for its vivid and emotionally rendered character, its magnificent landscape, and how Christie captures the extraordinary power of living story."Meet the author, buy an autographed book, and take a step back in time.
Join us for the author's presentation at one of the premiere sites of the book! The program is hosted by the Friends of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and the National Park Service. There is no charge for the event but seating is limited.
