The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) has a permanent position open for a Maintenance Worker to work as part of a Maintenance Action Team for national wildlife refuges in eastern North Carolina.
The Great American Outdoors Act gave spending authority to the National Wildlife Refuge System to hire maintenance professionals to reduce the maintenance backlog on national wildlife refuges. Maintenance Workers and Engineering Equipment Operators make up a significant portion of the FWS workforce. These currently advertised positions will work at national wildlife refuges to support infrastructure projects in North Carolina, the Southeast, and throughout the United States.
