DENVER, Colo. - The Bureau of Reclamation hosted a Bring a Kid to Work Day event at the Technical Service Center, April 27, from 9 a.m.-noon.

More than 200 children attended the event that featured multiple booths with hands-on activities to teach them more about Reclamation’s mission to manage water and hydropower resources in the American west.

“It’s great when kids get to learn more about how Reclamation makes a true impact by bringing water and power to their local communities," said Janet White, chief of engineering and laboratory services. “Maybe the event sparked an interest for some few future Reclamation engineers or scientists."

The various event booths had educational opportunities ranging from fundamental engineering aspects, how water moves through a dam, how hydropower is generated, geology and archaeology activities, and more.
