Ask a Hot Springs Ranger

Hot Springs National Park

Grade Level:

Upper Elementary: Third Grade through Fifth Grade

Subject:

Science,Social Studies

“Ask a Ranger" draws from pre-submitted student questions to emphasize specific areas of the park’s story, from history to ecology to geology. The presentation uses images and stories to aid the ranger’s presentation. This is a virtual program that typically lasts 3o to 45 minutes, including time for student question and answer.

This program was developed for 4th graders but has been successful for grades 2 to 8. There is no size limit on this program.

Because the program is dependent on a successful internet connection, rangers will host a 10-minute meeting with the host teacher a week prior to the program to test the connection and answer any logistics questions.
