Join a ranger at Indiana Dunes National Park’s Heron Rookery on Sunday, May 14, for two Mother’s Day Wildflower hikes to enjoy the spring’s woodland blooms. There will be two hikes: the first from 10:00 am to 11:30 am and the second from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The Heron Rookery is one of the best locations in the region for spring wildflowers.
The hikes starts from the Heron’s Rookery’s east parking lot, which is located at 1336 North County Road 600E in Michigan City. Indiana Dunes National Park has an entrance fee of $25 per car for a 1-7-day pass. A $45 annual pass for the national park is also available. Please purchase passes or pay the entrance fee at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, Paul H. Douglas Center, West Beach Entrance Station (after April 1st) or at www.recreation.gov/sitepass/indu.
