Officials with the Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that the embankment road located between Lake Somerville Marina and Campground and Welch Park will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, through 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023. 

The closure is in response to safety concerns associated with traffic control as crews work to survey the embankment. To ensure public safety it will be necessary to keep the roadway closed until the survey is complete.  Patience and understanding are appreciated as safety is our number one priority.

All lake visitors are encouraged to wear a life jacket when near or in the water.
