Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area will celebrate the deeply rooted tradition of Decoration Day on the Cumberland Plateau with its third annual Cemetery Quest event. The event will start at 9:00 AM (ET) at Bandy Creek Visitor Center on Saturday, May 6 and take participants to different cemeteries located throughout the region in search of site-specific information.

Participants who successfully complete their cemetery quest on that first day of May 6 by 4:00 PM will earn a unique challenge coin as well as 20 points toward the GO BIG 2023 Challenge. Participants who complete the cemetery quest by the end of May, still earn the unique challenge coin when submitting their booklets by 4:00 PM on May 31.

Everyone is welcome to pick up a Decoration Day Cemetery Quest booklet at Bandy Creek Visitor Center starting May 6, or download it from the Big South Fork website no earlier than 9:00 am ET on Saturday, May 6 at: www.nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/decoration-day-cemetery-quest.htm.
