The following press releases was published by the Bureau of Land Management on May 11. It is reproduced in full below.

PHOENIX - To ensure public and worker safety, the Bureau of Land Management will temporarily close the Baldy Mountain and Saddleback Mountain recreational shooting sites for up to seven days during a hazardous fuel reduction project. The closure will be in effect beginning Monday, May 15.

Staff will be working at the sites near Lake Pleasant to remove hazardous fuels and to develop fire breaks around the perimeter fence. The project will require a closure of the sites through May 21. If work is completed, the sites may open sooner. The recreational shooting sites web page will be updated with closure information.

The Church Camp Road Recreational Shooting Site will remain open during normal hours. All sites are normally closed on Wednesdays for maintenance and cleaning.
