Herbert Hoover National Historical Site staff will host meetings on Wednesday, May 24th at the Coralville Public Library (Iowa City) and on Thursday, May 25th at 5:30PM at the Rummells Center (West Branch) about current and future opportunities for visitor use of the park’s tallgrass prairie (prairie). The meetings will explore the development of accessible trails and other recreational opportunities that could be provided in the future.

Currently, the prairie area of the park has some mowed grass trails going through and beyond it. Throughout the entire process, the National Park Service (NPS) seeks to limit impacts to protected resources to the greatest extent possible.

We invite you to join us and share your thoughts on current and future use of the prairie. You can also provide feedback via our Planning, Environment & Public Comment (PEPC) project page.
