There were 400 press releases published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service in January.

The most recent press release, "“Old Battlefields, New Parks” at 24th Annual Free Civil War Seminar February 4, 2023," was submitted on Jan. 31.

The U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service published 1,139 press releases the month before, marking a 64.9 percent decrease for the current month.

The National Park Service cares for the more than 400 national parks in the US. It works with local communities to help with historic preservation as well as the establishment and upkeep of recreational places.

The Great American Outdoors Act was enacted to increase recreational options and address long-overdue infrastructure and modernization issues in the National Park System.
