The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, has completed a draft integrated feasibility report and integrated environmental assessment for the Chickasaw Park Emergency Streambank Stabilization along the Ohio River in Louisville, Kentucky. Authorization is through Section 14 of the Flood Control Act of 1946, as amended – Emergency Streambank and Shoreline Stabilization.

The project site is located along the left descending bank of the Ohio River along the northern section of Chickasaw Park (250 linear feet). The Tentatively Selected Plan includes placement of a geosynthetic filter to prevent erosion and a riprap buttress to armor the eroded riverbank and resist slope failure.

The draft report can be found by going to this webpage: https://www.lrl.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Project-Planning/. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District welcomes public feedback. Inquiries should be directed to Tammy Markert at (502) 315-6867 or by e-mail at tammy.markert@usace.army.mil.
