National Park Service to Commemorate Memorial Day at

Fort Harrison National Cemetery

RICHMOND, Va.- Richmond National Battlefield Park, in cooperation with the National Cemetery Administration, will hold a Memorial Day ceremony to honor and remember those who have died in our nation’s service. This event will take place on Monday, May 29 at noon at the Fort Harrison National Cemetery, located at 8620 Varina Road. The event is free and open to the public.

This year’s event will focus on honoring those who have served and sacrificed with a brief invocation offered by Kevin Johnson US Navy Chaplin (retired) followed by a wreath laying ceremony.

Please note, this year’s event will be shorter in duration than past events. No seating will be available, and parking is limited at the site. Recent landscape enhancements at the cemetery may make walking in some areas difficult, so please use caution.

For more information about the park, visit us online at www.nps.gov/rich or find us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/RichmondNPS.
