BOISE, Idaho–The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Idaho Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet at the BLM Boise District Office, 3948 Development Ave., Boise, ID 83705 for an in-person field tour of public land projects on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT). The Idaho RAC will meet at the BLM Idaho State Office, 1387 S. Vinnell Way, Boise, ID 83709 on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with public comment at 1 p.m. MDT. There will also be a virtual participation option for the June meeting via Zoom. Both the tour and meeting are open to the public.
“Insights from the citizen-based Resource Advisory Council play an important role in the BLM’s management of Idaho’s public lands,” said BLM Idaho State Director Karen Kelleher. “This field tour will provide a valuable opportunity for Council members and the public to see BLM projects firsthand.”
The 15-member Idaho RAC provides a forum that brings together stakeholders with diverse interests to provide advice and recommendations to the BLM on issues and challenges associated with the Bureau’s multiple use mission. Agenda items for the Council meeting will include renewable energy, recreation and updates from the State and District offices. The public are welcome to attend both the tour and meeting. Individuals participating in the field tour must provide their own transportation and meals. Travel during the tour will be on dirt roads, so 4-wheel drive vehicles are strongly recommended. During the public comment period, the number of speakers may depend upon the time available. Written comments for the RAC members may also be submitted before the meeting to Ms. Byrne.
