Frederick, Md. - Starting on June 1, the National Park Service (NPS) will open the visitor center at Monocacy National Battlefield seven days a week. The visitor center is currently open five days a week and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The visitor center offers an information desk, bookstore, exhibits and restrooms. Visitor center hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The park closes twenty minutes after sunset.

Initially established as a National Military Park in 1934, Monocacy National Battlefield commemorates “The Battle that Saved Washington," fought on July 9, 1864. The park consists of six historic properties covering 1,647 acres and served over 125,000 visitors in 2022.
