New Orleans – Work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

There will be six closures to thru traffic on Wednesday, June 1 through Monday, June 5, 2023, due to work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA). The closures include Florida Avenue at Deers Street, Florida Avenue at Almonaster Avenue (southbound), Florida Avenue near entrance to Norfolk Southern Rail Yard (prior to Press Street heading east), Almonaster Avenue at North Dorgenois Street (northbound) and two closures on Almonaster Avenue between Law Street and Florida Avenue (northbound).

This temporary closure is related to placement of asphalt paving. The construction is taking place as part of the federally funded SELA project.

No parking of personal vehicles within the construction zone is permitted. On scheduled trash pick-up days, please place all garbage bins in front of your residence and it will be taken to the end of the street where it can be serviced.
