Montrose, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management’s Southwest Resource Advisory Council will hold a meeting on June 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Uncompahgre Field Office, 2465 S. Townsend Avenue in Montrose. The meeting is open to the public. “Members of the Southwest Resource Advisory Council provide a valuable service by offering diverse perspectives that assist the BLM in managing our public lands,” said District Manager Stephanie Connolly. “We look forward to obtaining their input on a variety of resource issues as we work together to effectively manage public lands in Southwest Colorado for the American people.

Planned agenda items include a presentation on recreation-related topics in the Uncompahgre Field Office and updates from the three Southwest District field offices. A public comment period is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Individuals who wish to make a statement during the public comment period are encouraged to submit a written copy for the administrative record. Resource Advisory Council members will also participate in a field trip on June 14. The Resource Advisory Council provides advice and recommendations to the BLM on various resource and land management issues. The Southwest Resource Advisory Council advises the BLM Colorado Southwest District, which consists of the Gunnison, Tres Rios, and Uncompahgre field offices.
