INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Engaging students in water quality investigations provides an opportunity for hands-on learning and can foster environmental stewardship. Learn methods for incorporating water quality education with youth during a free educator workshop hosted by Indiana Dunes National Park in partnership with Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant and Indiana University Northwest. The workshop is on July 27 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CDT at the Paul H. Douglas Center at 100 North Lake Street in the Miller section of Gary, Indiana.

The workshop is open to all 5th-12th grade educators teaching in a Great Lakes state. Student teachers and non-formal educators are also welcome. Professional development hours and curriculum resources will be available for participants.

Indiana Dunes National Park is one of more than 400 units of the National Park System ranging from Yellowstone to the Statue of Liberty. Located in Northwest Indiana, the park includes 15 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and 15,000 acres of biodiverse beaches, woods, prairies, and marshes. Up to 3 million visitors come to the Indiana Dunes each year.
