Stillwater, N.Y. -Saratoga National Historical Park continues its 2023 special events program in July. Programs include:
18th Century Toys & Games
July 2, 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the Visitor Center
Discover (and try out!) toys and games from another time. Learn about daily life from the time of the Battles of Saratoga. This program is made possible by support from the Friends of Saratoga Battlefield.
Citizenship Ceremony

Tinsmith Demonstration
Saturday, July 8, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Visitor Center
A live tinsmith demonstration! At the time of the Battles of Saratoga, the tinsmith was an important part of both community and military life. Tinsmiths created dozens of useful items like cups, bowls, candle molds, lanterns, tea canisters, and other containers. They also provided armies with needed items such as oil flasks, canteens, document cases, cooking kettles, and even canister shot for artillery. Learn about the process and see a sampling of the many civilian and military wares a tinsmith could make! The tinsmith demonstration is weather sensitive and will be cancelled in the event of rain.

The commander-in-chief of the Continental Army reprises his 1783 stay at the Schuyler Estate. This program is made possible by support from the Friends of Saratoga Battlefield.
English Country Dance
Sunday, July 30, 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the Visitor Center
What fun to let loose and dance in costume... or not! No experience necessary and all ages are welcome. Small groups or large can participate in this simple and fun activity with just a couple minutes of instruction. Traditional steps, traditional music (you might recognize a few of the tunes...) and some costumes add to the fun of dancing like our forefathers.Saratoga Arts made this program possible through the Community Arts Regrant Program, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. This support was gained by the Friends of Saratoga Battlefield.
