ROCK ISLAND, Illinois -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, is hosting a public information session, July 11, from 6-8 p.m. to provide review of the preliminary design plan for a new 1,200-foot lock chamber being designed for the LaGrange Lock and Dam on the Illinois Waterway near Beardstown, Illinois.

The event will be held at the Meredosia-Chambersburg CUSD 11 School located at 830 Main St. in Meredosia, Illinois. Activities planned during the event include an overview presentation and an opportunity for members of the public to provide input to the design team.

The new LaGrange lock chamber is one of seven 1,200-foot lock projects being implemented in the Upper Mississippi River System as part of the Navigation and Ecosystem Sustainability Program.
