The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is hosting a public meeting and public comment period to kick off the Tionesta Lake Master Plan revision. The corps seeks public input about environmental and recreational topics for consideration during the master plan revision process.

WHAT: The district is hosting a public meeting to collect community input for suggested changes to the Tionesta Lake Master Plan. The meeting will consist of a 30-minute presentation and a 90-minute opportunity for attendees to speak with staff at environmental stewardship, recreation and public safety stations.
Participants will be able to submit comments during the public meeting. A 30-day public comment period will open on July 10 and close on Aug. 9. Comments can be submitted via email to Ben.A.Caparelli@usace.army.mil, via Crowdsourcing at https://lrp.maps.arcgis.com/apps/CrowdsourceReporter/index.html?appid=5c9698bcdda848d4af6011b804d4f8c1# , through the district’s website at https://www.lrp.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Lakes/Tionesta-Lake/ , via drop box at the Tionesta Lake office, or by mail to 477 Spillway Road, Tionesta, PA 16535.

WHY: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations require a periodic review of the master plans to ensure they meet current public and environmental needs. The master plan guides how USACE uses government-owned and leased lands around Tionesta Lake. Community input is critical to the master plan updates and will affect the management and usage of Tionesta Lake for the next 25 years.
