Get out and explore Indiana Dunes National Park through a wide variety of programs offered all summer long. There will be programs every day of the week throughout the national park, including ranger guided hikes, education booths, open houses, special events and festivals. If you are looking to avoid the weekend crowds, here are the programs offered on weekdays at the national park.
Mondays
Dunes Kankakee Hike - July 3, 24 & 31, 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center.
Pitcher’s Thistle Education Booth- Every Monday in July, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at West Beach.
Tuesdays
Beachcomber Hike with a Ranger-Every Tuesday in July, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Central Beach.
Wednesdays
Sunset Around the Fire at the Pavilion-Every Wednesday in July, meet at the Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Pavilion. July 5 & 12 from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm. July 19 & 26 from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Dog Days at Chellberg Farm Education Booth-Wednesday, July 19, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Chellberg Farm Parking lot.
Thursdays
Bird Walk and Talk- Every Thursday in July, 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center.
Fridays
Beach Fun Friday- Every Friday in July from 1:00 pm to 8:30 pm at West Beach.

Indiana Dunes National Park has an entrance fee of $25 per car for a 1-7-day pass. A $45 annual pass for the national park is also available. Please purchase passes or pay the entrance fee at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, Paul H. Douglas Center, West Beach Entrance Station (after April 1st) or at www.recreation.gov/sitepass/indu. Veterans/Military/Gold Star Family, Access, and 4th Grade passes are available for free. For more information on national park passes go to www.nps.gov/indu.

The Indiana Dunes National Park is one of more than 400 units of the National Park System ranging from Yellowstone to the Statue of Liberty. Located in Northwest Indiana, the park includes 15 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and 15,000 acres of biodiverse beaches, woods, prairies, and marshes. Over 3 million visitors come to the Indiana Dunes each year.
