The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 7. It is reproduced in full below.

The Richardson Maritime Museum is in Dorchester County, Maryland near the confluence of Cambridge Creek and the Choptank River and helps visitors learn about Cambridge’s maritime history and heritage. The museum was named in honor of Captain James B. Richardson, a local boatbuilder whose skills passed on to new generations. The museum preserves and explores his legacy through various exhibits, boat models and boatworks. Traditional wooden vessels are often crafted by local modelers and put on display.

The museum is currently closed as it is undergoing renovation and rehabilitation.
