BOISE, Idaho-The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Four Rivers Field Office is re-opening the areas that were temporarily closed due to the Hulls Fire. The temporary closure is being removed from approximately 4,500 acres of BLM-managed public land in the Boise Foothills between 8th Street and Rocky Canyon Road. The risk of wildfire spread from the Hulls Fire has been eliminated. The Hulls Fire was originally reported on July 6, at approximately 11:30 p.m. off 8th Street in Hulls Gulch, within the Ridge to Rivers Trail System, within an area of unexploded munitions as part of the former Boise Army Barracks artillery range, roughly three miles northeast of Boise.
This area of the Boise Foothills may contain unexploded ordinance and public land users are encouraged to stay on existing roads and trails. For more information on unexploded ordinance, please visit the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers fact sheet at https://tinyurl.com/33a8yv8e.
