CASPER, Wyo. - Don’t miss out on the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center’s unique take on “The Amazing Race" happening August 5. Registration is now open for teams to join the race, scheduled to kick off from the Trails Center at 9 a.m. sharp for registered participants.
During this “Pony Express Relay" race, teams will travel around Casper, encountering various challenges to test their problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. Each task will reflect the spirit of Pony Express riders and pioneers along the historic trails. Racers will compete as a team with family or friends to showcase their frontier survival skills. The race is expected to last throughout Saturday and potentially into early afternoon.
“Our goal is to build strong connections with the rich history we have around Casper," says BLM education technician Stacey Moore. “Competing alongside friends and family while learning about the history and historical skills is a great way to make these connections and create lasting memories."
Participation in the race is free. While there is not a cap on the number of participants, the number of teams will be limited, and early registration is encouraged. Each team should have a designated driver for transportation between stops. Secure your spot and register at https://forms.office.com/g/jYxXbSLvxE.
The relay race is sponsored by the Trails Center, the National Pony Express Association, Fort Caspar, the Rocky Mountain Conservancy, and the Platte Bridge Company.
