The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 28. It is reproduced in full below.

The waterways here at Cuyahoga Valley National Park tell a story of recovery, and with that comes the story of thriving wildlife in and along the Cuyahoga River and the many lakes and ponds in the valley. Fishing is a popular activity in the park, and with our 22-miles of river within the park as well as 8-miles of still-water fishing holes, you’ll be sure to enjoy spending a day in the park finding your new favorite fishing spot. With a wide variety of fish from Catfish to Bluegill, there are many different species to catch in ponds and down the Cuyahoga. Catch-and-Release fishing is encouraged to maintain the numbers of fish, and natural predator-prey relationships within these natural aquatic habitats.
