SALT LAKE CITY - Consistent with the settlement agreement, the Bureau of Land Management will publish a supplemental environmental assessment for 59 challenged leases encompassing 121,548.98 acres on public lands managed by the Price Field Office from the September and December 2018 Oil and Gas Competitive Lease Sales.
The BLM will decide whether to affirm its 2018 decisions to lease 59 oil and gas leases, cancel the leases (or a portion thereof), or amend and affirm the leases with revised terms. The decision will be based on the analysis in the environmental assessment for the leases.
A 30-day public comment period will run until Sept. 11, 2023. Public comments must be submitted electronically via the BLM Land Use Planning and National Environmental Policy Act and must be received by Sept. 11, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. MT. Comments received by other methods will not be accepted.
