The following press releases was published by the Bureau of Land Management on Aug. 15. It is reproduced in full below.

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Bureau of Land Management, Gila District rescinded Stage 1 fire restrictions in Apache and Navajo counties effective Aug. 15, at 8 a.m.

In recent weeks, widespread rain and cooler temperatures across Navajo and Apache counties have combined to reduce the risk of wildfires. Although reduced, the risk of wildfires remains. Public land users should always use caution while working or recreating outdoors ensuring vehicles are not parked over dry vegetation and campfires are well situated within a fire ring free of surrounding vegetation and extinguished completely before departing. The Bureau of Land Management would like to thank the public for their cooperation this summer during fire restrictions and continue to be fire safe when enjoying your public lands.
