St. Augustine, Florida - The National Park Service at Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas National Monuments is proposing a $1 reservation fee for after-hours special events, including the popular Castillo by Candlelight and Fort Matanzas Torchlight Tours. This $1 reservation fee is necessary to allow for on-line reservations for these programs and to ensure space is available for all with reservations.

Traditionally, the cost has been $15 per adult ages 16 and up, $5 per child ages 6 to 15, and children 5 and under were free. To minimize public impact, this additional $1 reservation fee will be absorbed with most of the existing special event fees. The only change will be that tickets for children 5 and under will now be $1.

Please note that regular entrance fees at the Castillo during normal hours of operation will remain unchanged at $15 per adult 16 years of age and over, and free for those 15 years of age and younger (must be accompanied by an adult).

If you would like to provide comments on this proposal, please e-mail comments to CASA_RESERVATIONS@nps.gov no later than Oct. 1, 2023.
