The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Sept. 5. It is reproduced in full below.

Effective immediately, all preventive fire measures have been lifted due to recent monsoon rain. This includes reinstating fire, charcoal, and propane grill use and smoking outside.

These restrictions were put in place on June 23, 2023, due to extremely hot and dry summer conditions.

Typically, the monsoon season occurs from mid-June through the end of September.
