This iron object was rediscovered in the Fort Stanwix National Monument collections during a 2023 inventory. Planned Prescribed Fire at Mineral Headquarters Area

News Release: Lassen Volcanic National Park’s fire management staff plan to initiate a 30-acre prescribed fire project in the Mineral Headquarters area in late May/early June, depending on weather conditions. Ignition is expected to occur over a cumulative 1 to 3-day period with residual burn down predicted for up to one week after final ignition operations.
