Interior Department Announces More Than $146 Million for Wetland Conservation Projects and National Wildlife Refuge
News Release: WASHINGTON - The Department of the Interior today announced that more than $146 million in funding has been approved by the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission, providing the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and its partners the ability to help conserve or restore 242,000 acres of wetland and associated upland habitats for waterfowl, shorebirds and other birds across North America - including Canada and Mexico.

Lake Park
News Release: In 1889, Milwaukee began acquiring lakefront land for a new park, asking Frederick Law Olmsted to help with the design. Olmsted agreed, as he was close by in Chicago planning the grounds for the World’s Columbian Exposition. Olmsted believed that greenspaces should be emphasized by the area’s best features, which for Lake Park was a forested, towering lakefront bluff cut deep by ravines.

Seasonal Snowmobile Trail To Close For The Season
News Release: On Thursday, April 27, Cedar Breaks National Monument will close the seasonal snowmobile trail through the park. Snowmobile use inside Cedar Breaks National Monument is restricted to the designated trail along Rim Road (the road through the park). The closure is necessary to begin preparing for the 2023 summer season, including plowing the park road and removing winter operations signage.
