Mammoth Cave National Park Seeks Information on Vandalism at Historic Joppa Missionary Baptist Church
News Release: Law enforcement officials from Mammoth Cave National Park are seeking help from the public to identify individuals involved in repeated acts of vandalism at Joppa Missionary Baptist Church. The vandals have broken windows, kicked in doors, and painted graffiti on church walls between Jul. 5 and Aug. 4, 2023.

West Nile Virus Detected at the William Floyd Estate
News Release: Patchogue, NY - Fire Island National Seashore (Seashore) announced today that West Nile Virus (WNV) has been detected in a mosquito sample from the William Floyd Estate. The mosquitoes were collected on July 25th from a trap set by the Seashore as part of its Mosquito Monitoring Program. This program is a collaborative effort between the Seashore and Suffolk County Department of Health Services - Arthropod-Borne Disease Laboratory.

Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site reopens
News Release: KAWAIHAE, Hawaiʻi - Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site in North Kohala reopened to the public Friday, August 11 following damaging winds and a close call with wildfires that firefighters prevented from entering the park.

Portion of Clear Creek Fire is in the North Denali Border
News Release: Denali Park, AK -The Clear Creek Fire (Fire #277) was identified on August 5, 2023, and is 52,673 acres in size and currently in "monitor status." Approximately 1,000 acres of the fire are in the northern boundary of Denali National Park and Preserve along the Toklat River to the east and in some rocky ridges with low fuel to the west. The fire is not expected to grow based on current weather conditions and fire behavior.

News Release: ALBUQUERQUE, NM - On Aug. 18-20, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rio Puerco Field Office will temporarily restrict access to roads and trails on the eastern portion of Mesa Chijuilla located east of Cuba, N.M, for the OMG 100 dirt bike race. Portions of Chijuilla and Windmill roads will be temporarily closed.

Wild Horses, Burros, and Trainers to Compete in 90-day Challenge
