BLM seeks public input on carbon dioxide sequestration proposal in Southwest Wyoming

News Release: Kemmerer, Wyo. - The Bureau of Land Management’s Kemmerer Field Office and Rock Springs Field Office are seeking public comment on a right-of-way for the proposed Southwest Wyoming Carbon Dioxide Sequestration project. If approved, the project would support the sequestration of carbon dioxide in sub-surface pore space in the Madison limestone and Nugget sandstone formations beneath Uinta, Sweetwater, and Lincoln counties.

BLM plans prescribed fire project in NE Washington

News Release: Republic, WA - Bureau of Land Management (BLM) fire management officials will begin a prescribed fire project near Lambert Creek, located 6 miles east of Curlew Lake in Ferry County, Washington this week. The project will treat approximately 203 acres of residual materials following completion of the BLM’s Republic Forest Health Project. The project is expected to begin as soon as April 29, 2023, and could continue over several weeks, depending upon weather conditions.

Celebrate the coast to be held May 6 at Point Arena

News Release: POINT ARENA, Calif. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) would like to invite the public to participate in “Celebrate the Coast," from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sat. May 6, at Point Arena. The event is free to the public and activities will be happening along the coastal trail between City Hall and the Lighthouse. BLM Kemmerer and Pinedale Extend Big Game Winter Range Closures

News Release: KEMMERER, Wyo. - Due to continuing winter conditions, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Kemmerer and Pinedale Field Offices are extending seasonal travel closures on big game winter range until 6 A.M. May 15. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is also delaying the start of shed hunting season, which will now open at 6 A.M. on May 15.

Seasonal Snowmobile Trail To Close For The Season

News Release: On Thursday, April 27, Cedar Breaks National Monument will close the seasonal snowmobile trail through the park. Snowmobile use inside Cedar Breaks National Monument is restricted to the designated trail along Rim Road (the road through the park). The closure is necessary to begin preparing for the 2023 summer season, including plowing the park road and removing winter operations signage.
