USACE ERDC leadership recognizes Jacksonville District team members

The Director of the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center praised the excellent work done in Jacksonville and Puerto Rico.


USACE, USDA to hold public meeting for dairy research facility in Sauk City, Wisconsin

In partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture and University of Wisconsin-Madison, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District will be hosting a public meeting at the George Culver Community Library in Sauk City, Wisconsin, on May 1, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. regarding the construction of the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center’s new 360-cow research dairy facility in the local area.


USACE set to take full control of Isabella Dam water releases

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District will begin the process early Thursday morning to take full control of water releases from Isabella Lake as temperatures heat up.

Grover Cleveland Park

News Release: In 1912, Olmsted Brothers were commissioned to develop a park for Caldwell, New Jersey, with a large portion of the park being used for both passive and active recreational purposes. John Charles Olmsted and Percival Gallagher were tasked with designing Grover Cleveland Park, with Gallagher taking a leadership role in the design process.


USACE to install supplemental pumps at the London Ave. PCCP

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, in partnership with the U.S. Navy Supervisor of Salvage and Diving, will install temporary pumps at the London Avenue Permanent Canal Closure and Pumps (PCCP) as a precautionary measure for delivering sufficient pumping capacity during a tropical weather event. Site preparation and installation of crane mats could begin as early as Wednesday, April 26, 2023.


Sullivan named new ERDC Deputy Director

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) has announced the selection of Ms. Pat Sullivan as the organization’s new Deputy Director.

News Release: Druid Hill Park was originally designed by Howard Daniels, who had placed fourth in the Central Park design competition, however, as the city grew, Daniels’s design started to degrade. The Olmsted name had long been present in Baltimore, and in 1904, city officials hired Olmsted Brothers to link Druid Hill Park to newer parks in the city like Wyman and Clifton.
