News Release: SANDY SPRINGS, Ga.-Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (park) extended a partial closure of the Chattahoochee River from Chattahoochee Nature Center to all downstream sections of the park due to elevated E. Coli contamination, which poses risks to health. The park is focused on safe visitor access and continued monitoring of water quality.

News Release: On Sunday, July 2, 2023, a 25-year-old male from Providence, Rhode Island died after falling and being pulled underwater at West Creek Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park. His body was recovered last evening. West Creek Falls is located on the east side of the park.

Mount Baldy Summit Hikes offered at National Park

News Release: INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Join a ranger every Sunday and Friday in July to enjoy spectacular views from the top of one of the tallest dunes in the national park. Meet at the Mount Baldy parking lot on Friday evenings from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm or on Sunday mornings from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Mount Baldy is closed for general public use due to public safety and restoration concerns, but these ranger-led hikes allow visitors to safely experience this great park resource.
